I have been interested in astronomy since I was about twelve years old, when my father showed me Saturn through a borrowed telescope at a village fete and I stood there with my mouth open for what felt like a very long time. I’m forty-three now. The First Clear Night

Eight Months On — The Honest Verdict
I’ve been observing regularly for eight months, whenever the weather allows. Here’s the honest report on the SkyMaster:
- The optics are genuinely excellent for the price. I’ve looked through more expensive astronomy binoculars at a club observing session. The SkyMaster holds up well. The Andromeda Galaxy. The Pleiades, Hyades, and Beehive clusters. The Milky Way core from a dark site. Dozens of double stars. More than I expected to see, consistently.
- The rubber eyecups fold down for glasses wearers. I wear glasses for distance. The folded eyecups give enough eye relief to see the full field of view without removing my glasses. This is not always the case with high-magnification binoculars and it matters.
The Difference They’ve Made
I go outside on clear nights now. That sounds simple. For thirty years I didn’t, despite wanting to.
