Fifteen Years of Losing the Sleeve Battle
I wear a shirt to work five days a week. I have done so for fifteen years. In that time I have ironed approximately 3,900 shirts, and in that time I have never once been fully satisfied with how the sleeves came out.
The problem is a structural one. A standard ironing board is wide and flat, which is excellent for shirt fronts and backs and completely wrong for sleeves. To iron a sleeve on a standard board you have to fold it, which creates a crease along the fold line, or you have to try to work around the board's shape, which creates a different crease in a different place, or you have to accept that the sleeve will be approximately right and move on with your life. I had been doing the third thing for fifteen years.
My wife pointed out, with characteristic precision, that I complained about this every single Sunday evening without ever doing anything about it. She was correct. My wife has also started using it for her blouses, which she had previously been sending out to be pressed. That alone has saved us more than the cost of the board in the first month.
The Honest Assessment
This is a simple product that does one thing extremely well. It is not glamorous, it is not complicated, and it does not require any particular skill to use. What it does is solve a specific, persistent, mildly infuriating problem that anyone who irons shirts regularly will recognise immediately.
