The 2-Pack That Completed My Stranger Things Collection — Max & Lucas Finally Have a Home

Funko POP! Stranger Things Season 4 Max and Lucas vinyl figures 2-pack — both figures shown in window display packaging

I have watched Stranger Things four times through. The first time with my flatmates when Season 1 dropped and we stayed up until 2am because nobody could agree on a stopping point. The second time alone, more slowly, noticing things I'd missed. The third time with my younger sister, who was finally old enough and who cried at the end of Season 4 in a way that made me cry again even though I knew exactly what was coming. The fourth time was technically a rewatch of just the Max and Lucas scenes from Season 4, which I'm counting.

I tell you this so you understand that when I say my Stranger Things Funko Pop! collection matters to me, I mean it in the way that things matter when they're connected to something you genuinely love.

The Collection That Had a Gap

I started collecting the Stranger Things Funko Pops! after Season 2. I have Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Joyce, Hopper — the core group, the ones who were easiest to find. But Max and Lucas had been harder to track down in a version I was happy with, and I'd been waiting rather than settling for figures that didn't feel right.

Season 4 changed how I felt about both characters. Max's arc in Season 4 is one of the most emotionally devastating things the show has done, and Lucas's loyalty and love throughout it elevated him from a character I liked to one I genuinely cared about. After finishing the season I felt, more strongly than before, that they needed to be on the shelf. Together, specifically — because that's how they exist in Season 4, as a unit, as two people holding each other up through something impossible.

Finding them as a 2-pack felt exactly right.

Why This 2-Pack Specifically

The Funko Pop! Stranger Things S4 Max & Lucas Vinyl Figures 2-Pack captures both characters in their Season 4 versions, which was important to me. The figures are approximately 10.4cm — the standard Funko Pop! scale that fits consistently with the rest of my collection — and the vinyl construction is the same durable quality I've come to expect from the range.

The 2-pack format was the specific thing that made this the right choice. I could have found individual figures, but having Max and Lucas together in a single set, designed to be displayed as a pair, felt true to what they are in the show. They're not separate stories in Season 4. They're one story, told together. The 2-pack honours that.

The window display box packaging means both figures are fully visible without opening the box — which matters for display collecting. I can see them clearly, the Stranger Things branding frames them properly, and they're protected from dust and handling without being hidden away.

When They Arrived

I'd pre-ordered, so there was a wait — which is honestly fine when you're collecting deliberately. The anticipation is part of it. When the package arrived I opened the outer box carefully, checked the display box for any damage (none), and carried it straight to the shelf.

I placed them between Joyce and Dustin, which is where they'd always been going to go. Stepped back. Looked at the full lineup for the first time with the whole Hawkins gang represented.

It sounds disproportionate to say it felt like something was resolved. But it did. Three years of building this collection, and it finally looked the way it had looked in my head when I started. Max and Lucas, together, exactly where they should be.

I texted my sister a photo. She replied with three crying emojis and then "they look perfect". She's right. They do.

On Collecting Things You Actually Love

I think there's a version of collecting that's about completionism or investment or status, and then there's a version that's about keeping something you love close in a form you can see every day. My Stranger Things shelf is the second kind. Every figure on it is connected to a specific memory — a scene, a moment, a conversation I had with someone while watching the show.

The Max and Lucas 2-pack is connected to my sister crying at the end of Season 4, and to me crying with her even though I'd seen it before, and to the particular kind of love that a story can make you feel for fictional people when it's done well. That's what's on the shelf. That's what I see every morning when I sit down at my desk.

Worth every penny. Worth the wait.

My Verdict

If you're a Stranger Things fan with a collection that's missing its heart — or if you're just starting out and want a pair of figures that represent the show's emotional core — the Funko Pop! Stranger Things S4 Max & Lucas Vinyl Figures 2-Pack is the one to get. Find them in our Toys collection and our wider Toys & Games collection. Hawkins awaits.
